Bhubaneswar: Voting in the fourth phase of the panchayat elections in Odisha began on Tuesday amid tight security in view of incidents of violence and poll code violations during the first three phases.
In the fourth phase of elections, around 51.31 lakh people are to decide the fate of 667 candidates who are in the fray for 163 Zilla Parishad seats across 29 districts.
Voting is being held in a total of 17,089 booths, including 2,563 sensitive booths, during this phase. A total of 257 platoons force have been mobilised supplemented by 1,473 mobile patrolling units.
