Bhubaneswar: Media should always emphasize on positivity, stated Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
“Media has a great influence on society. Be it electronic or print media, always special emphasis should be given on positivity. Several good things are taking place in the society, country and the State. It needs to be highlighted in the right perspective. This will inspire the society,” said Patnaik addressing a gathering as the chief guest at a function to mark the 8th anniversary of Odia daily “The Prameya” and the 5th anniversary of the TV news channel News7 at the Siksha O Anusandhan Deemed to be University auditorium here this morning.
The Chief Minister while stating that this is the age of change, he pointed out that changes are taking place very fast in all spheres which include technology, economy, social trend and lifestyle.
“Therefore we have to march ahead keeping ourselves in tandem with new situations. It is media which will prepare ourselves to adapt to new situations,” Patnaik said.
Expressing his happiness over “The Prameya” and “News7” creating a new identity for themselves in a very short span of time and strengthening their positions while gaining love and confidence of the people, the Chief Minister wished the newspaper and the TV news channel well.
Former Director General, PIB Sintashu Ranjan Kar and noted writer and speaker Chetan Bhagat also spoke on the occasion.
