**Bhubaneswar: ** “Post mortem report is an important piece of evidence. It will show the cause of death which will help us in our investigation. I can come into any conclusion only after looking at the report,” revealed Y.B Khurania, Police Commissioner.
“Two of our doctors, Dr. Laxmikanta Behera and Dr Pratap Satpathy conducted the post-mortem of the dead and have submitted the report. We have informed the police who is yet to collect it. In the report, the causes of the death have been highlighted as there are more than one causes regarding the deaths in the fire mishap,” informed Biswabhusan, Director, Capital Hospital.
“One of the trustees has been arrested and is in police remand now. It will be a prolonged investigation and will take some time. A look out circular is still out for Saswati Das, Manoj Nayak’s wife as she has not appeared before the police. Today is last day of remand of Manoj Nayak. We have acquired some valuable information during interrogation,” said CP in the press meet.
Explaining the procedure of their investigation, Khurania said, “We are trying to understand organisational structure of the institutions. A number of teams are functioning and various people are being questioned, interrogated and their statements are being recorded. Today, the Dean and the VC of the University are being grilled. The main intention behind the investigation is to know their process of decision making at various levels and to find out the persons who used to process files regarding this fire mishap, such as the NOC, etc,”.
Relevant records have been seized and are being investigated.
