Bhubaneswar: The week of love has begun. Unquestionably, Valentine’s week is the most fabled and loved week of every year. Flowers are best gifts when one want to express their love and emotions. And red roses have special connotations. It symbolises deep emotions, passion and love.
This year’s Valentine week holds special significance in the hearts, young and old alike. Post pandemic lockdowns, the celebrations seems to have taken up a good start. And the sale of flowers have started with a promising note.
“Though the prices of flowers have increased, especially roses, we still hope to do a good business this year,” claims Raghunandan Das. He owns a flower shop in Rupali Square, one of the most frequented place by the youngsters of the city.
The first day of the Valentine week starts with Rose Day, followed by Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Hug Day, Kiss Day and finally ends on February 14 with Valentine’s Day.
“I have decided to give a bouquet of roses everyday this week to my girlfriend along with a gift everyday,” said a blushing Dev, a college student. “This is the best way to compensate the last 9 months, he added.
“The sale on Rose Day was good, but the we hope that the flower business will soar higher in the coming days,” said the shopkeeper.
Couples engulf themselves in the fever of love this week and the emotions are displayed by giving flowers along with other gifts.
