Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, in a letter to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan asked him to allocate 19 more Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Plants in 15 districts of Odisha.
While 21 PSA oxygen plants are being set up by the central government in Odisha, Pradhan has sought the immediate intervention of Vardhan to set up additional 19 plants in 15 districts.
Pradhan said that while India is fighting against the second wave of Covid-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon the State Governments to take strong steps to combat it and has assured to provide all possible assistance to the states.
While thanking the Union Health Ministry for taking many steps to manage Covid-19 in Odisha, Pradhan asked Vardhan to consider the proposal of the State Government to establish the additional PSA oxygen plants in the State.
The State Government has proposed two additional PSA plants in the districts of Balasore, Balangir, Ganjam, and Mayurbhanj; and one each in Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khordha, Koraput, Puri, Rayagada, Sambalpur, and Sonepur.
