Bhubaneswar: Around 7,000 guests from abroad are expected to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which is set to be celebrated from January 8 to 10, featuring a grand ceremony at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
As many as 2,748 guests have already registered. Trinidad and Tobago President Christine Carla Kangaloo will be the chief guest at the mega event.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewing the arrangements at Lok Seva Bhavan as the preparations for the event have reached final stage.
To ensure a smooth and secure experience for the guests, additional high-security forces, traffic controllers, and liaising officers have been deployed. The city has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, with beautiful lights adorning the streets, office buildings, and landmarks.
The event will also feature various cultural festivals, including Pathotsav, Ekamra Festival, and Adivasi Mela. Odisha’s rich art and heritage will be showcased through music and dance festivals, which will be telecast live. Arrangements have been made to take guests to 31 tourist spots across the state, and a pavilion at the Janata Maidan will showcase Odisha’s cultural heritage.
The event has garnered significant media attention, with over 2,000 journalists, YouTubers, and bloggers from seven countries participating. The public has been informed about the event through social media, TV, and advertisements in three languages: Odia, Hindi, and English.
