Bhubaneswar: Governor & Chancellor of Universities, Odisha, Prof.Ganeshi Lal, on Friday appointed Pravat Kumar Roul as vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) Bhubaneswar.
Roul will stay in the office for a period of three years with effect from the date he assumes office as such or until further orders whichever is earlier. He is presently working as managing director of the Agricultural Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (APICOL).
An alumnus of the university, Roul has also worked in the institution as a teacher, researcher, and administrator before working with APICOL. He has more than 29 years of teaching experience, has published 24 books, and successfully guided nine Ph.D. scholars.
It is pertinent to mention that after the end of the tenure of former Vice-Chancellor Pawan Kumar Agrawal in May, Agriculture Production Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Sanjeev Chopra had taken over the post till the appointment of a full-time VC.
