Bhubaneswar: Journalists across the State will be getting the precaution dose of COVID-19 vaccine soon. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed senior officials to administer the precaution dose to journalists on priority basis.
During a review meeting with officials on COVID-19 situation in the State, the CM noted that media personnel are treated as frontline workers. Therefore they should get the precaution dose on a priority basis.
Naveen asked officials to expedite administration of precautionary doses to healthcare personnel, police, administrative officials and vulnerable citizens.
As per the Centre’s guidelines, senior citizens with comorbidities, healthcare personnel, police and frontline workers are eligible for the precaution dose of COVID vaccine.
This phase of the vaccination process has started from January 10 in Odisha. However, it is administered 9 months after one has received the second dose of the COVID vaccine.
