Pregnant Lady Shot Dead In Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: Unidentified miscreants shot a 7-month pregnant woman dead at Jardapali under Tikayatpali police limits in Bonai of Sundergarh district on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Samyamayi Behera, wife of Devan Behera.

According to reports, the woman was at home when two youths came and knocked on the door of her house. When the woman opened the door, the miscreants snatched her gold chain and mangalsutra. When she raised an alarm and resisted them, the miscreants shot her at close range.

While the miscreants fled the scene on a bike, locals rushed the woman to Bonai Hospital in a critical condition. She succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

On being informed, Tikayatpali police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
