Koraput: A premature baby boy stuffed in a polythene packet was found lying near a fuel station on the side of the road connecting Nandapur with Semiliguda today.
One Suprabhat Behera rescued the premature baby and took it to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Nandapur.
The baby who was alive on receipt at the hospital died while undergoing treatment at the CHC.
“Our ambulance guy brought a pre-term baby to the hospital at around 11.30 AM. He had rescued it from the roadside. The baby who was 20-24 weeks old was alive on receipt at the hospital. We tried our best to save the baby, however, it died,” informed Dr Sehebaz Khan, Medical Officer, Nandapur CHC.
