Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a special discussion with CEOs of over 100 leading companies at Janata Maidan today, as part of the Utkarsh Odisha- Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 programme. The companies represented various sectors, including steel, green energy, and IT.
Majhi emphasized that the present time offers the best opportunity for investment in Odisha, citing the state’s high GDP growth rate. He also highlighted Odisha’s strategic advantages, including its rich natural resources and mineral reserves.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the conclave, expressed enthusiasm for the programme and praised Odisha’s potential as a growth engine for a developed India.
“The speech of the Prime Minister in today’s mega business event has encouraged the entrepreneurs to make high investment in the State. Odisha is rich in natural resources and mineral resources. The PM said that Odisha will be the growth engine of a developed India,” Majhi added.
Majhi announced plans to establish industries in every district of Odisha, with a focus on developing infrastructure, including railways, roads, and ports. This initiative aims to promote economic growth and provide employment opportunities in border areas like Malkangiri.
During the event, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja welcomed participating companies and assured them of government support for setting up industries. CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, PWC chairman Sanjeev Krishna, and Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal were present. Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Hemant Kumar Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
