Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu visited the Puri Jagannath Temple and offered prayers for the prosperity of the nation.
As per reports, President visited the Puri Jagannath Temple in Odisha today, as part of her five-day visit to the state. She arrived at the temple around 10 am and was received by Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, and other officials.
The President broke security protocol and walked from her car to the temple, interacting with people on the way. She also touched the Aruna Stambha before entering the temple. Inside the temple, she offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra. President Murmu also visited the Bimala temple, where she offered prayers and spent some time. Later, she visited the Lakshmi temple and offered prayers there as well, said sources.
Prior to the President’s visit, the general public was not allowed to enter the temple. Thousands of people gathered on the roads to catch a glimpse of the President.
During her visit, she prayed for the happiness and well-being of the people of the state and the country.
Following her visit, President said, “After visiting Lord Jagannath, I prayed for the well-being of the state and the country. May the people of the state and the country be happy and prosperous. May God bless everyone.”
