Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu, on the second day of her visit to her home state, offered prayers at Lord Lingaraj temple here. The President performed ‘Jala Abhishek’ at the 11th Century shrine.
The President reached the temple at around 9.20 am amid tight security. She offered prayers in the sanctum sanctorum during her 15-minute visit to the shrine. Special preparations were made at the Lingaraj temple to welcome the President.
Before entering the temple, Murmu visited the Bindusagar tank in the vicinity. The President then proceeded to Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) from where she flew to Cuttack to attend the Indian Rice Congress at National Rice Research Institute in Bidyadharpur.
