Bhubaneswar: Security will be beefed up across the state for the President Droupadi Murmu’s four-day Odisha visit from February 28. Aside from Bhubaneswar, the President is scheduled to visit Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, and Berhampur during her upcoming visit.

Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said that 30 platoons of police force would be deployed in the capital city of Bhubaneswar and they will be supervised by 85 officers, including 12 Additional DCPs, 25 ACPs and 40 Inspectors of Police. The security arrangements for the President’s visit include deployment of 3 Quick Response Teams and 2 Special Tactical Units.

The security arrangements have been made on the basis of the Blue Book. Starting from the route line, arrangements have been made for carcades, traffic and parking.

As per the Blue Book guidelines, the entire capital city will turn into a fortified police camp. The venues will have the details of the invited guests as per the protocol. Care will be taken to avoid traffic problems for the smooth movement of the President’s convoy as well as the ease of the common people, DCP Prateek Singh informed on Monday.
