Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is beginning her four-day Odisha trip today to grace the iconic Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra festival in Puri tomorrow.
According to sources, President Murmu is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport this evening, marking the beginning of her four-day visit to Odisha. Following her arrival, the President will attend the 96th death anniversary of Utkalamani Pandit Gopabandhu Das in the capital city.
On Sunday, President Murmu will attend the world-renowned Rath Yatra festival in Puri, witnessing the sacred procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra.
President Murmu’s itinerary includes visits to Udayagiri Caves, interactions with students at Bibhuti Kanungo College and Utkal University, and the inauguration of the Divine Retreat Centre of Brahma Kumaris on July 8. The next day, she will attend the 13th Graduation Ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar.
During her stay, the President will visit Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khordha, etc.
From the security point of view, the areas where the President will visit and stay have been declared as ‘No Drone Zone’ and ‘No Flying Zone’, the Directorate of Intelligence, Bhubaneswar has informed. This order shall be strictly implemented.
It is learnt that extensive security measures have been put in place for President Murmu’s visit to Puri to witness Rath Yatra. While a VIP zone has been planned for the Odisha Governor, Chief Minister, Union Ministers and other dignitaries, a buffer zone has been planned for the President.
A dedicated team led by a senior SP rank officer has been formed to supervise the visit of Murmu to the pilgrim town.
