Prime Accused In Bhubaneswar Firing Case Arrested

Bhubaneswar: Prime accused in the firing case in Jharpada on Wednesday, Pravat Martha has been arrested by the Commissionerate of Police today.

Martha was arrested along with his associate by the police today. Earlier, the bodyguard of Martha and one person were arrested in this case, taking the number of arrestees to four.

Martha, had unsuccessfully contested the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation elections as a candidate from Jharpada area of the city.

While he belongs to the BJP, the victims in this case, a father-son duo are related to the incumbent (BJD) Corporator Sridhar Jena.

The victims said the shootout was attributed to lane-changing and overtaking issues. Further investigation is on.
