Bhubaneswar: A lecturer of the economics department and the principal of Abhimanyu Samanta Singhar College at Balia under Bari police station in Jajpur were suspended following allegations of molestation against them.
Jajpur Sub-Collector Ansuman Satpathy has suspended them.
The accused lecturer, Bidyadhar Dhal, and Principal Sudhir Kumar Rout have been absent from the college since the allegations surfaced. A case was filed at the Bari police station.
According to reports, a final-year +3 student of the college had filed a complaint alleging molestation by Dhal. Despite the principal’s attempts to resolve the issue, no solution was found, prompting the victim to file a written complaint against Dhal and Rout on January 15.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
