Bhubaneswar: Taking of prior permission for bringing out a victory procession by any party or candidate after the announcement of election results has been made mandatory by the Odisha police.

Also, one has to get permission for the use of a public announcement system and firecrackers.

“After victory, we have seen winning candidates take out victory processions. Since the model code of conduct of the ECI is still in force all have to adhere to it. As before, they have to get permission for rallies. They have to also take permission for use of loudspeakers and firecrackers as is required under the provisions of the Police Acts for these,”  informed Odisha DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi.
