Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) has issued a fresh date for filing of nomination papers for the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) that have received no nominations or the nominations have been rejected.
Addressing media persons, State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi informed that nominations have not been filed or have been rejected for posts of around 4000 Ward Members, Sarpanchs, and Samiti Members.
Padhi informed that the candidates can file their nominations from January 27 onwards. However, if no nominations are received in the second phase, there will be no election held and the posts will be nominated by the State Government.
