Bhubaneswar: Four inmates of Special Jail, Bhubaneswar, at Jharpara were injured during a clash between two groups late on Monday night. According to reports, one eye of an undertrial prisoner named Sambhunath Barik was damaged in the clash and he has been admitted to the Capital Hospital here.
Trouble was brewing inside the prison over the last two days allegedly over some people smoking brown sugar inside the prison premises. A violent fight broke out between two groups of inmates on Monday night. The situation worsened to such an extent that the jail superintendent reported the matter to the local police station.
Another clash broke out inside the prison two days ago after an inmate was suspected of being a police informer. A case has been registered against seven inmates at the Khurda town police station.
