Bhubaneswar: Odisha Private Bus Owners Association has withdrawn its proposed strike scheduled to be observed in Kalahandi and nine other neighbouring districts from tomorrow.
The decision was taken after a discussion with the government, association secretary Debendra Sahoo informed.
The association had warned of agitation in 10 districts of western Odisha from November 1 protesting the LAccMI (Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative) scheme of the government. Sahoo said that if the government runs buses from block headquarters to district headquarters under the scheme, the association will oppose it.
The government has assured the bus owners to take care of their business. If the government starts LAccMI bus services from the block headquarters to the district headquarters, then it will be strongly opposed, Sahoo said.
The association will decide its further course of action after its executive body meeting on November 8.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to roll out the ambitious LAccMI bus service in Kalahandi district on November 1
