Bhubaneswar: In the midst of an ongoing deadlock between the private bus operators and the State Government, the former has finally agreed to operate passenger buses in Odisha.
It was decided in the general body meeting of All Odisha Private Bus Owners Association that limited buses will start plying from tomorrow. For operations to normalise it will take 10 to 15 days, said Debendra Sahu, General Secretary of the association.
The decision has come as a sigh of relief for many who were stuck in different parts of the state. Some wanted to go home while others were keen to join work and were waiting for public transport to resume.
The bus operations were stopped after the national lockdown was announced. Important destinations will be connected at first and gradually whole if the state will be covered within 10 days, Sahu added.
