Baripada: Baripada Sadar police have launched an investigation into the alleged suicide of PRM Medical College & Hospital House Surgeon Sachin Kumar Sahoo by registering an unnatural death case.
According to reports, later on the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased House Surgeon Sachin’s father, police seized the mobile phones and laptops of the deceased and his girlfriend.
Police have started quizzing Sachin’s girlfriend. She has told police during the questioning that Sachin used to get emotional on trivial issues and often threatened to kill himself, police sources said.
Sachin and his girlfriend belonged to the same area and after taking admissions at PRM Medical College & Hospital here both became friends and were in love with each other.
Their families were aware of their relationship and ties between the two families were good.
Sachin was found hanging in a hostel room at PRM Medical College & Hospital here on Friday.
In the morning after completing his duty at the Surgery Ward of the hospital, Sachin went to his hostel room to take a little rest.
As he did not come out of his hostel room for a long time his friends knocked on the door of his hostel room. Since there was no response from him, they broke open the door of his room and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
They rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead by the attending doctors.
