Bhubaneswar: A team of police today picked up a drug dealer and professional thief from Bindusagar pond here where he was present for his late mother’s 10th-day rituals (Dasaha).
The arrested youth is Tuna Pradhan. More than 20 cases are pending against him in different police stations, police said.
A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Tuna for theft, robbery, and drug dealing. The police were looking for him to arrest. From a reliable source, Badagada police knew that Tuna was present at Bindu Sagar for his mother’s Dasaha rites.
Accordingly, a police team went there and picked him up. Tuna was brought and kept in Badagda police station. His relatives reached the police station and demanded to release him. However, the police forwarded him to court.
Badagda police station IIC Trupti Ranjan Nayak said Tuna is a notorious thief. There are 20 cases pending against him. He was absconding for long. He was on the wanted list of police. An NDPS case is also pending against him, Nayak added.
