Bhubaneswar: Property crimes have dipped in the State in 2020 as compared to the previous year, informed Minister of State (MoS) Home Dibya Shankar Mishra in the State Assembly today.
Replying to the debate on the adjournment motion on deteriorating law and order situation in the State moved by BJP members during ‘zero hour ‘in the State Assembly today, Mishra stated that dacoity cases in the State have dropped by 12.5%, loot cases by 13% and theft cases by 3% as compared to the previous year.
Similarly, cheating cases have dropped by 7.4% vis-a-vis the previous year, Mishra added.
Sharing data on conviction rates in sessions cases, the Minister told the House that conviction in rape cases stands at 18%, murder 30%, and 12% in POCSO cases.
