Bhubaneswar: Protests against the ‘Agnipath’ scheme for recruitment in the armed forces have also erupted at several places in Odisha including Cuttack where hundreds of youth, aspiring for a career in the Indian Army, are agitating near the Army Recruiting Office.
The agitating aspirants claimed that they have cleared their medical and physical tests for recruitment in the Army last year and were waiting for the written examination, Common Entrance Examination (CEE), which has been cancelled.
The protesting youth demanded that the ‘Tour of Duty’ or ‘Agnipath’ scheme should be withdrawn and the written exam for their recruitment should be held as scheduled earlier.
