Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wished the National Women’s Hockey Team for its spirited performance at Tokyo Olympics semifinals today.
“Proud of you girls – Congratulations Indian Women Hockey Team for putting up a brave fight and playing your hearts out in the semi-final match at Tokyo 2020. Your performances have been inspirational and wish all the very best for future,” the Chief Minister tweeted.
Naveen has relentlessly backed Indian Hockey over the past three years, since Odisha decided to sponsor all the national teams.
During the ongoing Tokyo Olympics, Indian hockey’s undisputed patron, Naveen demonstrated unabated support to the players, never missing out on cheering them before and after the matches.
India fell to a narrow 1-2 defeat against Argentina in the women’s hockey semi-final match on Wednesday. India will face Great Britain in the bronze medal game.
