Bhubaneswar: With allegations of private hospitals refusing treatment to the beneficiaries of Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) pouring across the state post-poll results, the Odisha Governor Raghubar Das on Thursday expressed his concern over reports in media that BSKY beneficiaries are being deprived of health services.
The Odisha Governor took to Twitter to express his concern and has asked the state Chief Secretary to take appropriate steps immediately so that no confusion regarding BSKY arises and beneficiaries get uninterrupted healthcare services.
“Hon’ble Governor Shri @dasraghubar expressed deep concern over reports in the media regarding confusion over BSKY health cards post-election results and beneficiaries are deprived of health services”, read the official Twitter handle of the Governor of Odisha.
It further read, “The Hon’ble Governor has asked the State Chief Secretary to take appropriate steps immediately so that no confusion regarding BSKY arises and beneficiaries get uninterrupted health care services.”
The Governor’s Secretariat has intimated it to the state Parliamentary department.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Secretary PK Jena clarified that the yojana is continuing and no hospital can deny treatment to patients.
“The BSKY scheme is functioning and the cashless treatment at all private hospitals is also continuing. No BSKY-empanelled hospital can show negligence towards the treatment of beneficiaries and make premature discharge of patients. The BSKY Yojana will continue until the new government takes any decision on the matter,” Jena said in a video message.
