Puri: The district administration has announced two public hearings to discuss the rehabilitation of landowners to be affected by the Sri Jagannath International Airport project. The first hearing will take place on April 9 at 11 am in Sipasarubali Mouja, while the second hearing is scheduled for April 11 at 12 pm near Mangala Mandap in Sandhapur and Goruala in Puri.
The hearings aim to provide a platform for landowners to express their opinions and concerns regarding the project’s rehabilitation and resettlement scheme. The District Collector, Sub-District Collector, and Land Acquisition Officer will be present at the hearings to address the concerns of the affected landowners.
As per the rehabilitation scheme, landowners who will lose their land due to the airport project will receive compensation. The public hearings are a crucial step in ensuring that the affected individuals are informed and involved in the process.
The District Collector has written to the District Information and Public Relations Officer, requesting the presence of media representatives at the public hearings. The hearings are scheduled as per the RFCTLAR&R Act-2013, and the public notices for the villages of Sipasurubuli and Sandhapur have been issued accordingly, the letter read.
