Puri: Amid demands for preparing Mahaprasad in Puri using pure ghee, the Suara servitors body (Suara Nijoga) today wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking his cooperation in setting up a ‘Goshala’ (cow shelter) and dairy farm for the Jagannath Temple’s daily activities.
In the letter, Suar Nijoga stated, that Mahaprasad can be prepared better using pure native cow ghee instead of OMFED ghee. The administration can build a cow farm on Lord Jagannath’s land to produce pure native cow ghee, milk, butter, and curd. The servitors suggested managing the cowshed or dairy farm using Lord Jagannath’s funds.
The letter read, “We firmly believe that under your guidance, a Gaushala dedicated to Lord Jagannath’s service could flourish, symbolizing your commitment to spiritual and agricultural well-being. This initiative would support the temple’s rituals and contribute to ‘Gau-seva’ and sustainable cow development.”
The servitors urged the Prime Minister to intervene, ensuring the use of pure Desi cow ghee at the Jagannath Temple. Establishing a Gaushala is prioritized to benefit both the temple and sacred cows.
