Puri: The two-day full dress rehearsal for the Navy Day demonstrations is underway and the pilgrim town of Puri is buzzing with eagerness as it prepares to host Navy Day celebrations for the first time on December 4.
The Indian Navy has planned a series of thrilling demonstrations to showcase its maritime power, air strength, and operational expertise, all set against the beautiful backdrop of Puri’s blue flag beach. The grand event will be attended by President Droupadi Murmu.
In view of the President’s visit, a review meeting was held by the police in Puri on Sunday, where ADG Sanjeeb Panda, who is overseeing security for the mega event, met with local police officers while Navy personnel conducted rehearsals on the beach.
As per the reports, several naval warships have been practicing off the Puri coast for the event. These rehearsals, which take place in the afternoon, have created a buzz among the locals.
The Navy’s special band and continuity drills have left a lasting impression, while the sight of Marine Commandos Force parachuting from the sky was truly breathtaking.
The Navy has announced it will showcase 20 different combat skills and capabilities during the event. These include aircraft flying the tricolor, soldiers parachuting to salute the President, and thrilling manoeuvres such as the Bomb Burst, Banner Formation, Submarine Sail Past, and MARCOS demonstration. Displays will also feature MH, Hawk, and MIG aircraft, among many others.
In addition, the Navy will display over 15 ships, including Jalashwa, Delhi, Mysore, Mumbai, Ranvir, Shakti, Satpura, Sahyadri, Gharial, Kiltan, Kavratti, Savitri, Sumitra, Kirch, and Kuthar. More than 40 aircraft will participate, supported by Marine Commandos (MARCOS) and personnel from the Indian Army.
