Puri: An inmate of Gurukrupa Ashram located on Lokanath Road under Baseli Sahi police limits was found brutally murdered and another critically injured following a brawl in an intoxicated state today.
The deceased inmate has been identified as Baba Arjun Das. He hailed from West Bengal.
According to reports, one inmate of the ashram Baba Vishnu Das in an intoxicated state attacked Baba Arjun Das with a wooden club. Baba Vishnu Das allegedly smashed Baba Arjun Das’s head repeatedly with the wooden club leading to the latter’s death.
Another inmate of the ashram Baba Dayanidhi sustained injuries in the brawl and has been hospitalized.
Police have detained Baba Vishnu Das and launched an investigation into the matter
