Puri Boy Builds Face Of Maa With Ice-Cream Sticks, Hopes Dussehra Brings End Of Pandemic

Puri: After making it to Asia Book of Records by building a majestic idol of Lord Ganesh with 5,575 ice-cream sticks, Biswajeet Nayak of Kumuti Patna in Puri has built a face of Maa Durga with 375 ice-cream sticks.

“As we are unable to have the darshan of Maa because of COVID-19 regulations, I have built a face of Maa Durga with ice-cream sticks. It took me six days to complete the sculpture with 375 ice-cream sticks,” said Nayak.

“The pandemic is similar to Mahishasura. Maa Durga had killed Mahishasura, similarly, I hope that coronavirus will also meet its end as Maa has come to grace us with her presence this Vijayadashami (Dussehra),” he added.

Besides, the Ganesh idol and Maa Durga’s face, the 19-year-old Biswajeet had earlier built a chariot of Lord Jagannath using 2,575 ice-cream sticks. The structure made it to the India Book of Records this year.
