Bhubaneswar: The Puri COVID-19 positive case is a postman, who serves at the BJB Nagar Sub Post Office here and had returned from Delhi on 10th of last month, revealed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhary this evening.
“He serves in the BJB Nagar Sub Post Office as postman and his service area is entire Goutam Nagar and the whole of court area. He used to deliver letters etc in these areas,” stated Choudhary addressing a press briefing at the Geeta Govinda Sadan here this evening.
He added that the Puri COVID-19 positive has delivered substantial postal deliveries in his service area during these 10 days of lockdown period.
“I would therefore request the people of his service area that if you have come in contact with him then please stay in mandatory home quarantine and in addition to that please register yourself with 104. If you develop any symptoms like cough, fever or any other symptom then please inform 104 and we will undertake all procedure like sample collection, testing etc,” the BMC Commissioner appealed.
Worth mentioning, the Puri COVID-19 positive case has a travel history of having visited Delhi and is not a clear case of community transmission.
