**Puri:** Following the ransacking of the district headquarters hospital (DHH) here and alleged attack on the medical staff on Wednesday night following the death of a patient, four doctors of the government-run hospital on Thursday morning hours tendered their resignations seeking foolproof security.
However, normalcy later on the day limped back at the Casualty Ward after adequate police force was deployed for protection of the staff and hospital property.
The aggrieved four doctors on Thursday morning had tendered their resignations to the ADMO resulting in adverse affect on the normal functioning of the hospital.
Tension ran high in the DHH premises on Wednesday night after a patient undergoing treatment here died due to alleged medical negligence.
The deceased has been identified as Nabakishore Jena of Batagaon in the town here.
Jena was suffering from a heart disease and was brought to the hospital by his family members. However, the doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Following the incident, the irate family members run amok and allegedly ransacked the registration counter and broke three computers, ACs, lights and oxygen cylinders at the hospital attributing the death to medical negligence. They also allegedly thrashed some doctors and staff of the hospital.
