Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has taken necessary precautions to ensure the safety of devotees and the temple premises in view of the impending cyclone Dana.
According to sources, the Chief Administrator has instructed officials and employees to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure the daily rituals of sibling deities are not disrupted. Additionally, the administrator has appealed to all servants and employees for their cooperation during this difficult time.
As per reports, the administration has removed temporary tin sheds and palm fronds from Ananda Bazaar as part of measures to minimize the cyclone impact.
It has also removed LED screens from the Singhadwar entrance and covered the information centre with plywood. The temple administration placed sandbags on the tin sheds of houses within the Koili Vaikuntha premises.
Apart from that, canopies and decorative lights have been removed from the barricade area near Sata Pahacha. It has secured lightweight barricades and covered them with tarpaulins. It has kept generators and a JCB machine on reserve.
The Chief Administrator of SJTA has directed officials to coordinate with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC) to take necessary steps. Additionally, the district collector and police authorities have been instructed to oversee all arrangements.
