**Puri: ** The devotees are looking forward eagerly for the darshan of Lord Jagannath from the ‘Prayer Hall’ better known as Jagamohan – the hall facing the sanctum sanctorum. But it is being alleged that the rituals are delayed as the Palia Puja pandas (servitors) started the Mangala Alati very late.
It is worth mentioning that the Orissa High Court has barred others to enter Garbha Gruha (sanctum sanctorum) of temple except Palia Pujapandas.
“We are conducting all rituals in time. As per the High Court strictures, only the Palia pujapandas can enter the sanctum sanctorum (garba gruha). There are many ‘Sevas’ in which the servitors whose shifts have ended or yet to start are required to enter the Garbha Griha but now no one can replace without the consent of the higher authorities. Anyway, I think all the rituals will be over by 12:30 pm and the devotees can have their darshan of the Lord,” informed Biswanath Samantara, another servitor.
The servitors had even urged for reconsideration of the order which limits the entry of Sevayats into the Garbha Griha (Sanctum Sanctorum).
It will be almost two years that the general public were prohibited from entering the Jagamohan as the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) took up its repair works on January 27, 2016.
Notably on March 6, Orissa High Court was informed by the ASI that it had completed the repairs of Jagamohan but the temple administration said that the general public will be allowed into the prayer hall only after ASI files a no-objection certificate (NOC) on its completion.
Further, it had also sought the permission of Orissa High Court to extend the time limit on opening the Jagmohan of the holy shrine till August 1, but a bench headed by Chief Justice Vineet Saran had ordered the temple administration to open the Jagamohan on April 16.
