Bhubaneswar: Since the Heritage Draft By-Laws notification of National Monuments Authority (NMA) under the Union Culture Ministry has already stirred a hornet’s nest, senior BJD leader and Puri MP Pinaki Mishra has taken a jibe at the BJP-led NDA Government by terming it as an outrageous attempt by the Centre.
Taking to his official twitter handle @OfPinaki, the Puri MP tweeted, “Outrageous attempt by the Central Govt to derail the extraordinary work being done due to HCM’s untiring efforts to improve surroundings of ShriMandir and Lingaraj Mandir.”
“Clubbing our living Gods’ abode with mausoleums is blasphemous. Odia sentiments deeply hurt,” the senior BJD MP alleged.
Notably, scores of developmental projects and beautification of Srimandir’s periphery are underway and a majority of them have been completed under the initiatives of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as he has tightened up his belt to make the pilgrim city a world class heritage site. Same is the endeavour being rendered to the historic Lingaraj Temple situated in the sacred Ekamra Khetra of Odisha’s capital city.
