Puri Srimandir ‘Dhadi Darshan’ Protest Violence: More Than 40 Persons Arrested Till Date, Says Central IGP
**Puri:** With the arrest of 15 more persons today in connection with the ‘Dhadi Darshan’ protest violence that occurred on October 3, the police have apprehended more than 40 persons till date informed Central Range IG Soumendra Priyadarshi.
According to sources, cops of Town Police Station have arrested seven persons and Singhadwara PS has arrested eight persons today.
Two among these 15 persons are servitors while others are Puri locals, sources said.
“We are doing proper investigation and are identifying the persons involved in the violence and with that more than 40 persons have been arrested till date. DG also came and reviewed the situation and has said that strict actions will be taken against all the people who had flouted the rules,” Soumendra Priyadarshi said.
“Review of CCTV footage and recording of people’s statements is still underway. So more arrests are expected,” he added.
