**Puri:** Six more persons including two servitors were arrested by Singhadawar police today in connection with the violence during Puri Bandh on October 3 protesting ‘Dhadi Darshan’ (queue system) at the Srimandir.

The accused have been identified as Mihir Mahanta (45), Santosh Kumar Patnaik (38), Kaibalya Sahu (22), Narayan Behera (30), Kakudikhai servitor Kalandi Charan Panda (46) and Garabadu servitor Satyanarayan Guru (35).

Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi had yesterday informed that the CCTV footage is being verified and action will be taken as per the law against those who might have been involved in the violence, vanadalism, loot or breaking of the barricade.

While five policemen including one havildar and four constables have been placed under suspension for negligence in duties during the bandh in the pilgrim city, cases have been registered against some servitors of Srimandir for their alleged involvement in the violence.

On October 3, Jagannath Sena activists, devotees and servitors took to streets protesting the queue system at the centuries old Jagannath temple. During the bandh, protestors had barged into the 12th century shrine and had removed the barricades erected near the temple.

The protestors had also hurled stones at SP’s residence and vandalized the office of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). They even barged into the house of Puri MLA Maheswar Mohanty and damaged properties.
