Puri Srimandir Reforms: Amicus Curiae Submits Report To SC, Next Hearing Scheduled On April 2
**Bhubaneswar:** SC-appointed amicus curiae Ranjit Kumar submitted his report on Puri Srimandir to the apex court today. The Supreme Court has asked all the sides to present their views within 4 weeks and the next hearing scheduled on April 2.
On February 27, the court had adjourned the hearing till March 5 due to absence of one of the judges in the bench, Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri.
It is notable to mention here that based on the suggestions from the SJTA, Puri Gajapati, Daitapati Nijog and Shankaracharya, the amicus curiae has submitted the final report to the apex court.
The report contains detailed instructions on important proposals of the Supreme Court like abolition of hereditary appointment of servitors, end to collection of ‘dakshina’, amendment to the Jagannath Temple Act of 1954 and entry of non-Hindus into the temple.
