Bhubaneswar: Devotees planning to visit the sacred Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri tomorrow should adjust their schedules accordingly. The temple will suspend general darshan for four hours, from 6 pm to 10 pm, due to the Banakalagi ritual of the Holy Trinity.
The Banakalagi ritual, involving the application of special herbal pastes to the deities’ wooden forms, will be performed after the second Bhog Mandap rituals. This age-old tradition is a significant part of the temple’s customs. Devotees are advised to plan their visit accordingly.
