Puri Steps Up ‘Mo Beach Yoga’ To Promote Public Health & Environ Education
Puri: After the success of Mo Beach campaign and the Blue Flag eco-label accorded to the Golden Beach, Puri district administration has now stepped up to promote public health and environment education through Mo Beach Yoga programme ensuring the new norms of safety for Covid-19.
As per a press note, this novel programme is an endeavour to reinvent and prepare resilient tourism that would facilitate public access to the beach while encouraging public health and environmental sustainability.
Mo Beach Yoga is a first of its kind beach campaign and is a pilot project of the Directorate of AYUSH, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha.
The two-day programme, that began today, is being organized in collaboration with the Beach Management Committee of Puri district administration here.
The Mo Beach Yoga session has been slated from 5:30 am and today it started with 200 participants, all COVID recovered persons, spread across in 10 selected locations of the beach. All Covid guidelines are being maintained through the programme.
Each location will have 20 participants and an instructor along with an on-ground trainer to help in improving the postures. The instructors have been trained and oriented by Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Puri for this special purpose, the press note informed.
