Bhubaneswar: A youth was stabbed to death at Talanagar under Soro police limits on National Highway 16 in Balasore district, on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Rabi Narayan Guli, a resident of Puri.
According to sources, Rabi was residing with his wife at Gopalpur in Balasore after tying the nuptial knot with Ushamani, a local girl.
He left for Bhadrak along with his friend on a bike Friday night. Sometime later, residents of Talanagar residents found him lying in a pool of blood on Talanagar Road and contacted police.
Police officers on patrolling duty rushed him to Soro Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, another young man who accompanied Rabi is suspected to have murdered the latter since the former is absconding after the incident.
Upon receiving the news, his wife arrived at the hospital and identified the body. The police have taken custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem. They have also registered a case and initiated a manhunt to nab the absconding friend.
