Puri’s Lord Jagannath Owns 60,822 Acre Land In India

Bhubaneswar: Total landed property owned of Lord Jagannath of Puri which has been detected in Odisha is around 60,427 acre spread over 77,356 plots. Out of this, record of rights for 34,803 acre land has been received by the temple, Law Minister Pratap Jena said today.

Most of these property is located in four districts: Puri – 17,071 acre, Khurda – 29,752 acre, Cuttack – 3,214 acre and Bhadrak – 2,937 acre.

Responding to a question on this matter raised by MLA Ramesh Chandra Sai, Jena said in six states – West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Chhattisgarh Lord Jagannath owns 395.252 acre land.
