**Bhubaneswar**: After a break of three months, the much-awaited Raahagiri Day resumed here on Sunday as Bhubaneswar Pathotsav amid much enthusiasm.
Hundreds of people thronged the Ram Mandir-Master Canteen Square stretch of the Rajpath to participate in the Pathotsav began right at 6 am. While activities like walking, jogging, skating, cycling and doing yoga, dancing and playing were seen all around the 1.5-km stretch.
The event was inaugurated by School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra in presence of Minister of Culture and tourism Ashok Panda, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Anant Narayan Jena, BMC Commissioner Krishan Kumar. Local MLA’s Bijaya Kumar Mohanty and Priyadarshi Mishra were also present at the event.
At the ‘Patho Utsav’, cycling will be promoted on coming Sundays.
“Our prime motive behind organizing this event is to promote cleanliness, brotherhood and harmony among the citizens. We invite everyone to come and participate in this event to make it successful,” said Mayor Anant Narayan Jena.
The Pathotsav being organized jointly by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) would be held on every Sunday from 6 am to 10 am. It (earlier, Raahagiri Day) had been discontinued from August due to rainy season.
