Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Railways has approved the final site survey (FLS) to prepare the DPR (detailed project report) for the 160 km long Barkote-Jharsuguda railway line, informed Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan through a tweet in Odia.
The new railway line will connect the industrially rich region of Jharsuguda with Barkote in Deogarh district. With this initiative, Deogarh district is going to be connected with the railway line for the first time, which is a matter of happiness, Pradhan added.
Pradhan has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for taking related steps to build a new railway line from Jharsuguda to Barkote to improve rail transport in Odisha.
