Puri: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw directed officials to construct Foot Over Bridge (FOB) with a Ramp at Birapratappur village in Puri. Vaishnaw was accompanied to the village by local MLA Jayanta Sarangi, Railway officials and officials of the district administration.
While interacting with the villagers, Vaishnaw learnt about their plight in crossing the railway line. The Minister immediately directed officials of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) to construct a FOB in Birapratappur near Chandanpur in Puri.
It may be noted that the village is divided by railway tracks. As a result, the villagers complained that school children are facing lot of difficulties. During festivals too people were facing difficulties to pull the Chariot of the village temple across the railway lines.
Apart from this, the day-to-day activities of villagers were being hampered as they have to cross the railway lines. “I was apprised of the concerns by Dr Sambit Patra following which I planned to discuss the matter personally and have directed to construct a FOB here,” Vaishnaw said.
