Bhubaneswar: The India Railways is to launch Jagannath Circuit in Odisha from next Rath Yatra, said Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Odisha Nirman Conclave-22 organised by Kanak News in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
The theme-based circuit train will promote the rich heritage of Odisha and showcase the beautiful and ancient Jagannath Culture to the entire world, said Vaishnaw.
The Minister also informed that Odisha is to witness a complete transformation in railway sector. Tenders in this regard have been awarded for 28 stations in Odisha and the work is underway.
He also said that Vande Bharat Express will also be launched in Odisha soon. By the month of January or February, the country will be manufacturing around four trains a month. Construction of a circuit is underway in Odisha and it will be complete soon.
It is pertinent to mention that Ramayana Circuit, Krishna Circuit, Buddhist Circuit and Spiritual Circuit are some of the circuits under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, which seeks to boost religious tourism in India.
The scheme will be a joint effort of the states and the central government. It has a larger aim of providing job opportunities to local artisans, as it promotes local art and craft.
