Bhubaneswar: The eyes on silver screen that once spelt fear among the viewers shall live even after veteran Odia actor Raimohan Parida’s death. The deceased actor’s family has donated his eyes to ‘Drusti Daan Eye Bank’.
“We convinced his family members they agreed for donating his eyes. Then we collected both his eyes,” informed an eye donation technician of LV Prasad Eye Institute who collected Raimohan’s eyes.
The veteran actor committed suicide by hanging in his house today afternoon.
Later his body was taken to Capital Hospital for post-mortem examination. There the actor’s family members donated his eyes.
The popular actor, a household name had featured as a villain in several Odia films made in the 90s. He has acted in over 100 films–90 Odia films and 15 Bengali films. He had also acted in several Odia jatra (theatre).
